What are the standard sizes of mattresses?

Mattresses come in five standard sizes. These are Twin (39″x75″), Full (54″x75″), Queen (60″x80″), Eastern King (76″x80″) and California King (72”x84″).  In addition there are more uncommon sizes of a Twin XL (39” 80”), and Full XL (54”x80”) NOTE: exact mattress sizes vary by manufacturer and by model. The dimensions given are only approximations.

Do I need specific sheets for my new mattress?

You will need special sheets if you are purchasing a very thick mattress with a thick pillow top. Nicks Got Your Back offers a selection of high profile or deep pocket sheets that fit very well on these thicker mattresses. When selecting sheets, it is also important to keep in mind that your sheets are part of your sleep environment, therefore comfort, thickness and softness should be considered when making your sheet selection.

Do I need to buy a new box spring when buying a new mattress?

The box spring acts as the foundation of the bed. It provides support for the mattress by acting as a shock absorber. These mattress and box spring were designed to compliment each other when working together as a set. Although there are several types of platform beds that do not use a box spring, pairing your new mattress with an old box spring is not recommended.

How often do I need to rotate my new mattress?

Your new mattress should be rotated every week for the first few months and each month thereafter. This pattern will allow you to get the most even wear and extend the life of your mattress.

How long will a new mattress last?

A new mattress on average should last you around eight to ten years. Mattresses comfort is key to a good night sleep. If you find yourself realizing that your quality of sleep is diminished, it is time to get a new mattress. Additionally as we go through life, our lifestyles and bodies change. What role does my body weight have when choosing the right mattress?

What role does age play in choosing the correct mattress?

As we get older our bodies require different needs.  When it comes to buying your new mattress your brain may tell you one thing, while your body will assure you of another.  What we’re trying to say is that the older you get the more your body will crave a firmer supportive surface. What is the California Mattress Recycling Fee?

Effective 12/30/2015, California state law requires retailers to collect an $11 recycling fee on each mattress and each box spring sold. The amount of the fee was approved by the state and is not set or controlled by individual retailers.

How long is the warranty on my mattress?
